Albuquerque is so amazing in that THIS is only a 30 minute drive away… I am still getting used to snowy outdoor activities, and it is so exciting to have a whole new world opened up in the winter that didn’t really exist in Las Cruces.
My first time snowshoeing and my first time hiking on top of the Sandias included a mountaintop hot chocolate break at the half-way point, as well as walking the last half of the way back in the dark with a headlamp (which revealed that I am a big scaredy cat).
After lots of changes and both animals and people coming in and out of our lives, it’s back to being just me and Dahlia.
I like it, just us girls.
And she’s happy to be an only child again.

An attic story: after.
I’ve been playing “this old house” for the past month.
Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, marking just over my first year living in Albuquerque.
Fresh salsa made out of Sean and Mimi’s tomatoes. The best salsa or chile sauce is the kind you could just straight up drink. Mmmmmmmm….
This weekend my friends Sean and Mimi celebrated their wedding reception by camping in the Chama River Wilderness near Abiquiu. It was great fun and a very peaceful, relaxing time…congrats Sean and Mimi!
