Some days my life involves waking up next to a handsome guy I am madly in love with, going shopping and out to lunch with my Mom at Gold St. cafe (and giving hugs to Raleigh), working in my yard in the lovely New Mexico weather, meeting with a guy about using my yard for the filming of the TV show Breaking Bad, playing with a chubby baby for a few hours, and photographing a beautiful pregnant mama’s henna belly art.
Yeah, there were several loads of laundry thrown in there as well, but all in all my life is pretty awesome and I am a lucky girl.
Chubby baby toes and hopping animal toys.
The lilac bush in our front yard, captured weathering a New Mexico Spring day by Silvia.
The first picture was taken this morning at 9:00 a.m.
The second was taken this afternoon at 5:30 p.m., as I walked past the same flowering bush on my way to the car.
Albuquerque, you and your weather are super special.
Raleigh makes these salami, goat cheese, and arugula sandwiches quite often.
Today I witnessed my 6th birth… of a healthy baby goat! There were actually a lot of similarities to a human birth, and it was awesome watching the experienced goat farmer “midwife” reading Lilac’s cues and helping her through labor. It was Lilac’s first birth and she did pretty well, although she started headbutting her new baby soon after she was born, which is definitely different than the typical human response to a newborn.
Dinner for my Valentine: seared scallops with an improvised charcutière sauce, spinach, and roasted brussels sprouts.
